I don’t usually make announcements like this, but I needed an excuse to explain my break from blogging and just get it off my chest.
I recently joined a remote AI startup.
It’s been almost a month and when I joined, we only had a plan. There was no MVP, no developer documentation, no architecture – nothing at all. GTM team was demoing Figma mockups to prospects. We were building from zero. We are a small team and everyone works remotely. The market is not saturated but the company operates in a competitive space where the only way to sustain is by shipping fast.
My screen time has peaked to 14 hours per day on average. I’m using AI for coding more than ever and most of my time is spent on writing specs and code reviews. I’ve been away from tech twitter, mastodon rabbit-holes and social media. All I see is war and I feel information bias.
Few good things are we don’t use slack for work, the product can pivot and I’m making progress.
